South Buffalo’s Oldest Park to See Improvements

South District Councilman Jeffrey M. Conrad has announced that Butler Park, located on Pawnee Parkway, will see significant improvements this fall. Butler Park is one of South Buffalo’s oldest parks dating back to a land transaction in the early 1900’s.

“One of my main initiatives is to beautify the neighborhood parks throughout South Buffalo. Projects like the Butler Park Restoration can dramatically change the attitude of the neighborhood,”
said Councilman Conrad

Butler Park is a unique neighborhood park with a stone wall perimeter and a large center circle with endless potential. Improvements will include new asphalt paths leading to the center of the park, a new 20-foot planting bed located at the center, 2 new benches, new lighting, and the repair of the existing stone wall.

“The block clubs around Butler Park are phenomenal, they care about their streets and their park. This will be a big boost for that neighborhood and Seneca Street as a whole. This goes right along with revitalizing the Seneca Street area,”
Conrad said.

Councilman Conrad points out there will be 2 major construction projects occurring in the Seneca Street area this fall. The $2.6 million dollar Cazenovia Creek Slope Wall Project scheduled for September and now the Restoration of Butler Park.
