The lawsuit commenced by David Monolopolus and myself in August challenges a number of issues from unlawfully paying wages to civil service employees who are in their job titles provisionally in excess of the statutory nine month limitation for such appointments; compelling the Erie County Citizens' Budget Review Committee to meet and carry out its' duties under the Erie County Charter; challenging as unauthorized the Town of West Seneca's policy of paying an in lieu stipend to town officials who do not accept the health insurance that is offered by the town, etc.

Thompson Seeking Testimony on New York State’s Protection of Wetlands

Two Public Hearings will be held to address concerns in relation to the loss of beneficial wetlands. There will be a hearing next Tuesday on planned changes to Article 24 of the NY State Conservation Law. The central piece of legislation that these hearings will revolve around is a bill sponsored by Senator Thompson (S.4956) which would allow New York State to regulate wetlands as small as one acre in size. Currently, New York State Law regulates wetlands that are 12.4 acres or larger.

A public hearing will be held by the Erie County Board of Elections today at 1:00 p.m. at their offices located on the third floor of 134 West Eagle Street, Buffalo, NY 14202. The hearing will address when the downsizing of the West Seneca Town Board is deemed adopted and whether there will be an election for two seats on the Town Board this year.
