Lancaster amends Parks Ordinance for Heritage Trail Bike Path

After holding a public hearing on amending a parks ordinance for Heritage Trail Bike Path and hearing no opposition to the proposed ordinance, the Lancaster Town Board unanimously adopted an ordinance that restricts vehicular operation on the bike path while establishing where transportation can take place.

Lancaster adopts 100% smoke-free policy for all Town parks and recreation areas

Citing that smoking is responsible for the premature death of over 430,000 Americans each year, 50,000 deaths among non-smokers, kills more Americans than alcohol, cocaine, crack, heroin, homicide, suicide, accidents, fires and AIDS combined, and whereas an estimated 3,900 young children under the age of 18 try their first cigarette, the town is adopting a smoke free policy for all town parks and recreation areas.

Gaughan faces skeptical crowd regarding Village of Lancaster dissolution

Having attended Kevin Gaughan’s initial meeting to register Village of Lancaster petition gathering volunteers last week I was surprised to read in the Lancaster Bee that he claims 360 Lancaster Village volunteers have signed up. There were no volunteers needed for the recent Village Board downsizing as the village acted on its own to downsize and no volunteer names were taken at last week’s meeting.
