American Repertory Theater of WNY Announces the 2011-12 Season
American Rep Theater of WNY is proud to announce the fifth season with one of most diverse and exciting lineups in the theater's young history.
Artistic Director, Matthew LaChiusa, said of the 2011-12 season, "We are fortunate to have found a home at Buffalo East, so we can plan and execute an entire season." LaChiusa, certain that the season will provide a broad range of theatrical performances, said "ART is thrilled to bring works that appeal to a broad range of patrons yet maintains a strict dedication to our artistic mission statement."
September kicks off the 2011-12 season, with a Curtain Up! performance of Tony Award winner, Adam Guettel's "Floyd Collins". This Americana musical depicts the events and media circus surrounding the "Greatest Cave Explorer Ever" and his quest for fame and glory. Directed by Jeffrey Coyle and under the Musical Direction of Adam Paglia, this marks the first musical presented by ART of WNY. "Floyd Collins" runs September 16th through October 2nd, Showtimes are Thurs-Sat 8 pm/Sun 3 pm. Ticket prices are $20 General Admission, $15 Student, Seniors and Veterans.
November finds ART of WNY dedicating a part of the season to an original work by Artie-Award winning playwright, Matthew LaChiusa, and his full-length, tongue-in-cheek comedy, "Fred's Requiem."
